CLOUD HOSTING - Cloud hosting is still new enough that many people have never heard of it, even though it has been around for awhile. It is a unique concept that is catching on quickly with users and has grown astronomically in the last year or so. The idea of the cloud utilizes large numbers of remote computers (servers) connected together to form something referred to as “the cloud.” The effect of this is almost like one huge server. Your data will be stored on the cloud, but not on any particular part (server) of it. Accessing your information is the same as with other hosting plans with regard to logging in and managing it. If your business grows faster than expected, you just take more space from the cloud and when you no longer need it, you put it back, metaphorically speaking. This way, you only pay for what you use, compared to a VPS server where you have a finite section in which your data resides, or a dedicated server wherein you have just one computer. The beauty of the cloud is that if one computer fails, the rest of the cloud picks up the slack. You’ve probably been using the cloud for awhile and didn’t even know it. Do you have Gmail? That’s the concept. Your email is always on the cloud for you to access. If you are past the stage of wanting shared hosting but can’t quite afford a dedicated host, cloud hosting is a good choice, priced generally between VPS and a dedicated host.
